Currently, the actual oven temperature is much lower than the programmed temperature of the oven.Programming the oven for 400 degF results in an internal oven temperature of 330 degF.
Programming the oven for 450 degF results in an internal oven temperature of 390 degF.
The measured data supports what we long suspected - that the oven temperature was much lower than it should be.Based on my experience cooking with the oven, I believe that it was operating correctly during the first few months that we owned it.Gradually we noticed that food was taking much longer than it should to cook.Armed with the new calibration temperatures I expect that we can continue to use the oven.
This unit was purchased new less than one year ago.
Measurements were taken after the oven indicated that it was pre-heated and then 5 minutes later.To measure the oven temperature, a Type K thermocouple was placed in the middle of the oven cavity and connected to a meter outside of the oven.The thermocouple wire is small enough that the oven door can be closed on it.
