Marware SportShell Convertible for iPad Review

What really caught my eye about this shell was its "transforming" multi-mode positions.

The Good:
-Four nubs on the back allow iPad to sit flat on its back without wobbling.
-The slightly raised "typing" position. Very comfy and just the perfect amount of tilt. Looks very Star Trekky.
-The clear acrylic insert gives the iPad a cool appearance.
-Hand strap can convert from horizontal to vertical orientation.(but it's a bit of a hassle to switch)
-Easy access to all ports, switches and buttons. Orientation lock still easy to reach. (Not sure if Dock compatible)
-Fits into TwelveSouth's BookArc stand just fine.

The Bad:
-The high angle "movie mode" tilt. The angle is nice, but the feet seem ready to snap off.
-The feet of all legs are completely smooth. It is easily slide around a smooth surface.
-If not for the hand strap, the shell is just as slippery at the iPad itself.
-Cheap feeling thin plastic. It does keep the iPad profile slim. But I wouldn't mind a little more texture or protection.

The Ugly:
-It requires considerable force to snap and unsnap the folding feet. They attach to the edges of the iPod aluminum frame, not to itself. The hard snapping sound feels like I'm breaking something.
-The actual hand strap. It's made from the thinnest, lightest elastic foam material I've ever felt. I have old socks with stronger elastic. I give it a couple weeks before it's completely stretched out and limp. I actually fear that the weight of the iPad will rip the strap out of the connecting pegs. (I would have preferred woven nylon and adjustable velcro -- like camcorder hand straps)

So while it's not the perfect case, it has a few great features. But there's definitely room for improvement.

That Orange Stuff 16 oz. Review

I recently bought and used this cleaner and was really impressed with how well it did.It's a concentrate, so once it's diluted, the price is very inexpensive.I was surprised at how many different jobs it did around the house! I was planning on just cleaning the sinks and ended up unclogging drains, cleaning the toilets and mirrors.It can also be used in carpet cleaners, so I'm planning on trying that next.I also read that it fixes squeaky hinges.I like that it's an organic product but at the same time gets the job done well.So many organic products I've tried in the past did not work as well as the regular cleaners.Plus, this cleaner has such a nice, light scent that I don't have to air out the room when I'm done.All in all, I was very impressed and ordered two more bottles!

CorningWare 2.5-qt. Oval Casserole with Lid - French White Review

The original "French White" Corningware was made of their famous pyroceramic glass, which could be used on the gas stove, put directly in the freezer, put under the broiler right from the freezer, and oh yes, also used in a microwave. And it was very unlikely to shatter if dropped. If you pounded on it with a hammer and nail you might have gotten it to break.

When World Kitchens bought the license from Corning, they decided to halt production of a line of cookware that would take anything and last forever, and dupe customers, especially brides, into thinking the stoneware "French White" was the same thing as the wonderful French White pyroceramic cookware previously available.

The pattern is attractive and can be used with any decor, but this stuff is not, repeat, really not, what people mean when they say "Corningware."

Le Creuset can do most of the above mentioned, but it being metal you cannot use it in the microwave. Stoneware cannot go on top of the stove, and repeated trips from the freezer to the oven will eventually cause it to craze and crack. And being stoneware, it will also chip, and break if dropped, etc. Pyrex glassware cannot go on the gas stove although you can take it from the freezer to the oven, and also microwave it.

The only product which could do anything was pyroceramic, and World Kitchens has chosen to remove it from the market because it is "too good."

They have recently brought back a few of the old square shapes, with the Cornflower, or plain white, calling it "vintage," but the French White shape is not making an appearance yet. If you want it, email them and ask for it!

Meanwhile, get Le Creuset for stovetop cooking and roasting (yes it is expensive but it lasts forever and cooks beautifully), and reheat things in Pyrex in the microwave.
