My wife gets home late at night and I use hood lights to dimly illuminate the kitchen. Just recently I awoke to find this Whirlpool Microwave completely dead. No power, no clock, nothing. The bulbs in the hood lighting look as though they became extremely hot before burning out. The ceramic fuse was burnt, too, the main inverter board. Again, this occured when the microwave wasn't being used, when I was asleep. I contacted Whirlpool who refuses to do anything. To repair it will cost $400+ dollars.
